Albuquerque Day 4

Monday was the last "full" day we were there. We ended up going out to my Aunt and Uncle's resort they were staying at. It was Bea-uti-ful!!! We had a wonderful breakfast, and then headed out to show them around the base. Since Aleigha had never been to Kirtland, we took her to where Pave used to work, and also showed her the helicopter he worked on. He said it was 'unreal' that a helicopter he worked on just a few years ago suddenly is a static display.

After we went to base, we went back to my parents house and Aleigha, Aunt Michelle, and I went shopping for a shirt for Aleigha to wear for Christmas pictures... Can I just say, shopping with a 10 year old is no fun! After about 8 stores, she finally found one that she liked, that matched what her Dad and I had packed for the pictures. We had my Dad take a bunch of pictures around their house, but it was windy. That and the fact that I can almost be counted on for doing something dumb with my eyes or mouth in every. single. picture. It was frustrating! (mostly because of me!). That night my parents threw a big party, and invited people that I had grown up with. I was able to meet up with an old Security Forces troop that I hadn't talked to in about 5 years, and found out one friend just got engaged, and another was pregnant! YEA! It was a great time, but there were so many people there I felt like I wasn't able to spend as much time with everyone as I should.

During the party, my husband was pretty much constant on my Blackberry, updating the score for the Green Bay- Minnesota Vikings game. It was sucky. I guess this game determined that I was a Green Bay fan long before I was a Farve fan. :(

Blogger is having issues with the pop up window that let's me upload pictures... it could be the 6 inches of rain we have gotten today... that is still falling...

I'll try again later tonight!

  1. So did you get any good pictures? It's so frustrating when you're hoping for at least one good one and there are none to be found. We desperately need to have a family portrait taken and I'm not looking forward to it.
